What is NECWGB?

 

The Northend Central Woodward Governance Board is comprised of 21 residents and stakeholders working to create a opportunity and a better community for youth and adults.

 

NECWGB Mission

 

The NECWGB’s mission is to support and uphold North End Central Woodward as a proactive community with advocacy, leadership, resources and special programs organized to provide a high quality education and resources to meet the needs of its children and families.

 

NECWGB Purpose

 

Our purpose is to represent the best interests of all residents, especially the youth, of the North End Central Woodward community. Areas upon which the NECWGB will focus include

1) youth employment;

2) safety and security;

3) education;

4) vocational training;

5) health and nutrition;

6) housing and neighborhood development; and

7) arts and culture.

 

 

 

NECWGB Committees

 

Board members lead our committees and membership is comprised of residents and stakeholders in the NECW community. The purpose of each committee is to focus on a particular aspect of the Board’s efforts to achieve community goals and objectives.

 

The NECWGB Committee are:

Communications: Public relations and community outreach.

 

Planning and Development: Youth, education, housing, beautification, commercial, security, and zoning programs.

 

Finance and Budget: Fundraising plan and identify organizations funded to provide programs which meet Board objectives.

 

Ethics: Ensure responsible and ethical behavior in Board members as well as by contractors and suppliers working in the community.

 

Cooperative Development: Develop and propose cooperative business opportunities for community adults and youth.

 

Education: Establish relationships with schools and other educational organizations to advocate for program improvements.
